Sundial Trio, previously known as Jachna/Tarwid/Karch, released their 4th album, „IV”. It’s already been eight years since the debut, „Sundial” was recorded. The band has changed in various ways until now. The trio has performed at many festivals, such as Hevhetia Festival, Warszawa Singera, International Jazz Piano Festival in Kalisz. And not only was there a saxophonist Irek Wojtczak appearing on the previous album („Sundial III”). There is also a new drummer from now on, Krzysztof Szmańda replacing Albert Karch.

The music is still an original mixture of idioms from contemporary European jazz and musicians take their inspirations from connecting spontaneous improvisation with not necessarily jazz composition. Grzegorz Tarwid has composed the majority of the pieces, but there are also two large compositions from Szmańda, „Misy” and „Aknakaks” as well as an improvisation with an impressionistic texture, „Hator” brought by Jachna.
